Hello : ) once again from the library before I head off to dinner. This upcoming weekend I am heading to Budapest, Hungary with a group of 8 people. It should be fun. Last weekend I ended up going sledding on Saturday with a friend from Texas who had never been sledding before!! That was fun. Sunday Sister Monica took a group of about 20 on a hike to the waterfall nearby. The hike was through the snow and was about 3 hours round trip. It was great fun just talking and praying together, as well as beautiful seeing the waterfall frozen over. I offer some food for thought, maybe you all have already thought about this, but I was struck by it today in my Philosophy class... in talking about self-determination we discussed how with every decision one makes, one's integrity is at stake, because each little decision defines the "I" that emerges, the integrity of that "I". Every little decision builds up to determine not only who the "I" is, but also who the "I" will become. Even more foundational than this, is the very freedom we have to accept ourselves or to reject ourselves. To embrace who we are and love it or reject ourselves and always seek to escape ourselves. All of our other decisions depend on this very decision to accept ourselves, our nature, our humanity, our limitations in a very personal way or reject ourselves, our nature, our very subject. I pray you all are well and I send much love, Monica
